Card Room

Dr. Lynn Fox: Lodge 1108 DAP Chair for 10 years. 40-year trainer in Drug Prevention and Education. Professor, Researcher and Textbook author: "Creating Drug Free Schools & Communities"
The discussion will center around what you want to know more about drug use, prevention and education. We would like to know what skills, knowledge and contacts you could bring to the DAP Committee, and any recommendations you have for future topics, speakers, resources and outreach. Do you know anyone else in the Lodge who could help spread the word about the dangers of drug use - Officers, parents, teachers, etc.?
Informational handouts will be available: brochures, announcements, and coloring books from Elks national Drug Awareness Program; also materials from the DEA about drugs, the effects of drugs and additional resources.
NOTE: Lodge 1108 has a DAP informational board with monthly and on-going resources in the Geister Room (attached at the back of the main dining room).

Bart used to think marijuana was harmless in his 20's, that it wasn't a big deal. However he says: "I was wrong. It was a very big deal for my son, Kevin. My wife and I witnessed him experience many episodes of Cannabis-induced Psychosis. He died by suicide in 2018 at age 29. One of the last statements he made to me was "Cannabis has ruined my life.'"
Bart is now honoring his son by helping othersprevent drug abuse.
