TOURNAMENT PROCEDURES and RULES: Men play from the WHITE tees (5,673 yds) - Women play from the RED tees (4,828 yds)
This is a scramble tournament/blind bogey scoring*, but with TEE-TIMES ASSIGNED from the first hole, beginning at 10:30am. (We thought 7:00am was a bit too early to do a shot-gun start!) Team or individual registration.
The Check-In table will open at 10:00am for the first players. All others please be at the Check-In table at the course a MINIMUM of 15 minutes before your tee time - a half-hour would be safer. Peacock Gap has an all-grass practice range, and two putting greens.
*Blind Bogey Scramble: All members of the team tee off - the best ball is selected. All players on the team take their next shot from that location. This is repeated until the hole and been completed and a team score is marked. Played through all 18 holes.
ALL SCORECARDS MUST BE TURNED IN TO CHRIS IN THE PROSHOP AFTER YOUR ROUND IS COMPLETED. Your score will not be counted if you bring your card back to the Lodge. In the pro-shop, and conducted by the Head Pro of Peacock Gap (Chris Brite), three holes on the front-9 and three holes on the back-9, have been selected by the Head Pro (BEFORE the tournament is conducted). For 'BLIND BOGEY' the Team's score in relation to Par on those 6 holes will be multiplied by 3. They will be added if the Team score is under par OR subtracted if the Team score is over par. Ties will be determined by a scorecard playoff.
No tournament committee members, volunteers or players will know which holes are selected. Blind-bogey scoring helps 'even-out' the playing field between accomplished players and those who play "just for fun occasionally" at events like this Elks tournament. Winning is great, but our purpose is to make "winners" of those we serve!
